Madhu Lunawat Makes History as First Indian Woman in MF

The Pantomath Group has received SEBI approval to launch its MF business. This creates the historic milestone “The Wealth Company, the first fund house in India to be founded by a woman, Madhu Lunawat.

Before her entrepreneurial journey, Lunawat, a chartered accountant by training, held leadership roles at Infosys, ASREC and Edelweiss Group, where she served as CFO of Edelweiss ARC. “This is not just a moment for me, it is a moment for every woman who wants to build, lead and reshape the financial landscape," Lunawat told.

She is the first Indian woman to independently set up and receive SEBI approval for a non-institutional mutual fund house, a circular release from the company said.

“We are here to build something intelligent, long-term and deeply aligned with the real needs of Indian investors." she added.

The Wealth Company Mutual Fund is India’s Youngest AMC with Sebi’s certificate of registration granted on July 18. The Wealth Company officially enters the Rs 74.41 trillion mutual fund industry.

The Wealth Company’s entry into Mutual Funds is backed by its rapid success in the alternative investment space. “Over the years, mutual funds have become one of the most trusted investment platforms for retail investors," said Lunawat, who now serves as Founder, MD and CEO of The Wealth Company Asset Management Holdings.

Their bottom-up investment philosophy is designed to address real investor needs while maintaining simplicity, had strong focus on Tier-3 and beyond markets, which have been growing economic activity and rising surplus incomes. These, the company believes, actively participate in the country’s promising development journey as part of the Viksit Bharat agenda.
