PM Modi Meets Rolls-Royce CEO Amid Investment Push

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with the CEO of Rolls-Royce, Tufan Erginbilgic, in Delhi. They both mutually shown intentions to enhance the investment and operational presence of the British engineering firm in India.

As per specifications in one of the posts on X, PM Modi expressed his enthusiasm for Rolls-Royce’s increasing interest in expanding its operations in the nation, along with collaborating with India’s “creative and energetic youth.”

The Prime Minister stated, “It was a pleasure to meet Mr Tufan Erginbilgic, CEO of Rolls-Royce, earlier today”. As well, he mentioned India to expect enhanced cooperation as the company grows its footprint.

After that, Rolls-Royce India released a photo from the meeting, which indicates that the discussion was all about how the company is aligning its growth strategies with India’s long-term developmental goals under the “Viksit Bharat” initiative by the government.

The company announced plans to grow its Global Capability Centre in India, which aims to transform it into its largest facility globally. By doing so, it will collaborate with Indian partners to jointly develop advanced manufacturing and high-value engineering skills.

As reported by News18, the discussions also addressed how cutting-edge technologies of Rolls-Royce might assist the Atmanirbhar Bharat objectives of India in defense and other crucial areas.

While India establishes itself as a central hub for worldwide engineering services, aerospace supply chains, and industrial innovation, Erginbilgic executed this meeting. Multinational companies have been expanding capability centres and sourcing networks over time in the nation. It is due to the nation’s skilled labor and expanding domestic market.

Erginbilgic has earlier identified India as a key focus for Rolls-Royce. In comments made in October 2025, he stated that the company had “strong ambitions” to establish India as a home market. For which, the emphasis is mainly on creating opportunities in civil aerospace, defense, and power systems, according to News18.

This expansion reflects the increasing importance of India in high-end engineering and manufacturing sectors. Besides, for Rolls-Royce, it means they are investing more heavily in India while making an allowance for not just as a place for services, but as a key market and a partner in cultivating their capabilities.

Now, everyone will be paying close attention to what Rolls-Royce does next in India with companies worldwide recalibrating their supply chains and how they invest in technology. We will be looking at how much money they put in, how much they produce locally, and the kinds of partnerships they form in the coming years.
