Ashok Leyland Share Price Falls 1% After Ex-bonus: Full Story

On Tuesday morning, 15th July 2025, the Ashok Leyland share price experienced a shortfall of 1.2%, falling up to Rs.123.95.

Well, the target was to close with Rs.14.2 lakh small retail shareholders and those with an underlying share capital of up to Rs.2 lakh at the end of March quarter. However, the shareholders held only a 9.38% stake in the company as of 31st March, 2025.

On this note, today as in 16 July, 2025, the Ashok Leyland Limited announced the issue of one bonus share for every one share held by the shareholders. But, "Did you this became the 1st bonus issue announced by Ashok Leyland after nearly a decade-and-a-half?"

But wait, "What does this bonus issue of Ashok Leyland Share mean for you?"

Getting to the point, this means that the shares that were in the demat account of shareholders as of closing on Tuesday, will be issued bonus shares in equal proportion.

Let's take an example to make things clearer:

Well, if you are a shareholder with 20 Ashok Leyland shares worth Rs . 4000, now that number will turn into 40 Ashok Leyland shares (Adjusted for 1:1).

Important Note: The value will remain the same as the underlying price will be roughly equal in size, adjusting for the bonus ratio.

Finally, it is also worth noting that in the last month, as of Tuesday's close, the Ashok Leyland share price gained 6.5% profits, taking its year-to-date advance to 12.6.
